Useful or Interesting Links:We come across a wide variety of interesting sites and resources on the web in our "travels" for knowledge to help us do great things for customers, and it's a shame to not let other folks know about what kinds of resources are available. Hence, the links page. We'll try to ensure that every link is intact, but if you do find any that no longer go anywhere useful, please let us know! It's unfortunate, but some great sites forget to keep their domain name lease intact, so if you find one of these links goes to a shopping site or other "search engine", please let us know! We're always trying to find new resources, and if you know of a link or site that isn't mentioned here, please let us know and we'll add it ASAP. There are 5 link categories:
Vinyl Record Links:
You may also be interested in some of the new ideas for recovering vinyl recordings, in particular the ELP laser turntable (for well-heeled customers only - at AUD$17,000 for the basic unit, it's a steep price but a fantastic product), or the new photographic reproduction pages can be found here. Magnetic tape links:
You may also want to search many university sites with varying degrees of technical focus, for both magnetic and vinyl recording technologies. For example, in Australia, the primary resource for questions of cultural or other significant historical recordings is the National Film and Sound Archive in Acton, Canberra. Their general enquiries number is (02) 6248 2000, or you can email their General Enquiries email address, enquiries@nfsa.afc.gov.au. Please note, they are a government body, not a shopping mall or technical support group, but you can purchase various audio and video material from their online shop. Other Recovery Resources:In Australia, you may wish to try the following businesses for extremely high-quality conversions of materials we may not normally handle:
And more to come soon (we hope!) Fan Sites:We're getting there, slowly. Any help would be appreciated, so if you know of a bunch of really good fansites, please let us know, and we'll post them here. Lyrics & Discographies:When we don't know the lyrics, the first places to look are:
If you have more specific tastes, you may also like to try the following sites we've recently accessed for our customers :
Finally, if you know of a site that contains useful or practical information on vinyl or tape recordings, please let us know, and we'll add the pages here! |
